Federations in Talia

A Federation in the Talia architecture is a number of independent Talia Nodes which collaborate to form an interlinked representation of their data.

Notes on functionality

  • DynamicContextualization - Protocol for adding references in other nodes (Trackback-like protocol)?
  • May have a centralised service (e.g. Federation-wide name service)
  • Namespace may be global or local for each host
  • Needs an interaction protocol
  • Needs a trust model to modify data on remote nodes (local and/or centralised)
