Glossary (Mixed with specifications)
During the past years the "Hyper" community developped is own vocabulary. It may seem a non-sense but after all this time it's easily understood by non-technical people so we should try not to deviate too much from it. Still, these terms remain highly idiosyncratic ... Here is a mapping with "natural language" :-)
- Siglum (singular) / Sigla (plural)
- DynamicContextualization
- IdentityManagement?
- DiscoveryFederation?
A second part of the glossary concerns terms that are a constant source of misunderstandings between computer scientists and humanities scholars, since they are homonyms used very differently by these two communities. As these create typical conflicts in functional and technical specification phases of most similar projects we are documenting these here, as they may be instructive for other projects, too. Here is a first tentative list of such problematic homonyms:
- Ontology
- sign
- language
- name
- semantic enrichment
- semantics
- concept
But there's more to come
