CIDOC-CRM is widely used in cultural heritage. It's a conceptual schema formalised in a number of formats. For our purposes the most interesting is probably the RDFS version, although there is also an OWL-DL version.
We would like to have a version of Talia with CIDOC preinstalled. The problem is that the ontology is very big and complex to be used in its entirety, therefore most of the projects use only parts of it. If it is to be embedded into Talia we need to find a way to "map" it to simpler structures for e.g. navigation. Mpre about this soon.
